I’m Matt, and this is the about me page. Why don’t I just be lazy and copy and paste the crap that was on my old about me page:
My name is Matt and I’m 35 years old. I live in Waunakee, Wisconsin (it’s a “suburb” of Madison) I was born on October 19, 1971 in Green Bay, WI. When I was four years old, my mom, new step-dad, sister and I packed up and moved to the Chicago area. I went to a grade school (1st - 8th grade) at St. Isaac Jogues Catholic school (yes, Catholic) Then I continued on to High School at Hinsdale Central. After a quarter of my senior year, I moved back to Wisconsin! I finished out high school at Kettle Moraine H.S. in Wales, WI graduating in 1989.
My summer job towards the end of high school and during college was park maintenance. This was lots of fun! If you think working outside, cutting grass, collecting garbage, drawing lines on baseball diamonds, and weed-eating is your idea of fun. It did get me a nice tan and some spending money though! I started college in the fall of ‘89 at UW-Platteville, I majored in Broadcast Engineering and stayed with it all four years! While I was in school, I spent most of my time at the campus radio station, WSUP-FM. While I was there, I was an on-air person, music director, metal director and program director. I was also involved in a lot of broadcasting activities like working (operating camera, producing, engineering, directing and more) on live basketball telecasts, studio productions and telethons.
I graduated in the spring of 1993 and got a job at Creative Video Editing. I started there at the end of May 1993, and shortly thereafter I got a part-time job at WMSN-TV as a Master Control Operator. I since then have worked my way up to Staff Engineer. Now I handle the computers & network stuff at the station, with my primary job being the station website, www.fox47.com.
That’s about it for the boring stuff….Now for more boring stuff! I volunteer at WORT-FM, a local community radio station. And at WORT, I host a three hour show once a week called the “Mosh Pit”. I play that heavy metal music. Also as part of this show is creating a playlist, keeping contact with record labels and yeah, concerts and reviewing a LOT of new CDs. Some other stuff I like to do: golf, play softball, chat with friends online, build computers, collect CDs, pick on my friend Tom and watching hockey. There’s more I’m sure, and well, maybe when I feel like it, I’ll add more. I used to have season tickets for the Madison Kodiaks minor league pro hockey team, but they up and ditched Madison for Kalamazoo, MI. In its place, I will probably try and catch more Milwaukee Admirals games, and watch more NHL on ESPN.
