Hey! I’m here. wow as I say ever posting I make… I suck at this blogging thing. I guess since my friend tom was on vacation all week driving around and He was away from posting, I figured I wouldn’t either! haha
We played softball a couple days last week. I actually have been hitting the ball well again. Men’s league lost on Tuesday, but I think I hit a double or something. I had a home run at co-ed on Thursday and we won our first co-ed game! This week it’s rivalry week. The hated “Dale’s Heating” and “Weasels” Both of them our respective rivals in each league.
last Saturday was I guess the first offical “Mosh Pit Presents” concert. It was at the annex with a couple local bands (Mirror Black and Mine), as well as a great prog/thrashey metal band from Chicago called Twelfth Gate. Great show, not a lot of people there, but still great bands!
So that’s enough for this post. I think I need to keep up with short and sweet poasts instead of the blow your load in one big ass post every few weeks post, don’t you think? yah. ![]()
Went out on Saturday night… saw a few cover bands at the annex and it was a b-day party for a local music promoter type person. It was a decent show, the Guns n Roses cover band was very entertaining!
Sunday was a big day. Mother’s day! Sandi and I went over to mom’s house so we could all drive up to the Old Feed Mill in Mazomanie to have a Mother’s day brunch. It was pretty good! But when we were leaving, one of the tires had a leak in it and was just about flat. There was enough air to go fill it up and get it taken care of for the drive home n stuff. After all that, I got home and it was time to leave for Milwaukee.
Machine Head, God Forbid and 36 Crazyfists were playing at the Rave in Milwaukee. We (Mike and I) had plans to interview the singer/leader of Machine Head at 5 and 36 Crazyfists at 5:45, and the show was to start at 7. Well, we got there at 5, but the tour manager had the interview time at 4:45, so we were late! THey were very accomodating and we got to just hang out back stage and wait for the band to soundcheck and eat. That pushed the other interview back. No biggie… that tour manager was cool too. So, we did the interview, it was all good… and we just had to wait a few more minutes and the opening band (36 Crazyfists) was going to start! They were pretty good! Good high energy show and for a relatively unknown band from Alaska, the crowd was singing along and everything! After that, God Forbid was up next. But, first Knife Party was playing the bar stage. The bass player from that band is maddie’s boyfriend’s band. (Maddie is my dad’s girlfriend’s daughter). I watched them for a couple songs until they had guitar problems, and about the same time, God Forbid was starting on the main stage. They had a great set and since one of the bands on the bill from the beginning of the tour dropped off, they played a longer set. The interview with 36 Crazyfists was to go on inbetween GF and Machine Head. So we wandered over and hooked up with the singer from 36 CF and wandered to an available room downstairs to do the interview. We talked about normal boring interview stuff, but then started talking about the building (Eagles Club in Milwaukee), and how it’s allegedly haunted. Also, about all of the rooms and stuff in this building. We told him what we knew and what we have explored. We mentioned the pool and how it was too damn dark to try and explore. He was bummed as he wanted to see some cool stuff! We wrapped up the interview, and showed him about where you would see the pool, but then just went back upstairs, as Machine Head was going to be starting soon.
Machine Head played, it’s probably about the 7th time I’ve seen them. They always put on a great show, very “metal!” So, yeah, they played nearly 2 hours, big circle pits and everything. I’ll never figure out the security in that place. They have a “no moshing” rule. So the security goons stand outside the main pit area and watch. They seem to just cherry pick some people out, then kick them out! After about 1/2 hour of doing that, they just stopped, and left the main floor. Then it gets back to a normal metal show with moshing and stuff. What’s the point of that?
So the show ended, and we had some After show passes… we just waited around for that to “start”… and Brock and Holt from 36 CF come find us, and they had a flashlight. They wanted to explore and for us to show them where to go! Funny. So we went on an adventure!
We all went to the pool first. Mike had been around there and saw it, but I hadn’t, and since there wasn’t any security down around there, we had free reign. After penetrating the pool room, there was a stairway to go down to pool level. It’s a full olympic size pool, empty of course, and seemingly abandoned. Deep end was up to 20 feet deep! Adjacent to the pool were showers, sauna and a hot tub area. All of this was very blair witch-ish! 4 guys, one flashlight, dark and creepy exploration! Brock found another staircase that went down even further! Whoa! We went down there, found the Boiler room, and a bunch of like, other little crappy dirt floor rooms. All kind of forgotten. We then back up stairs, found a few more wierd rooms and hallways and stuff. One wall had writing all over it from bands that have probably done the same thing…Commenting on the scariness of stuff.
We saw all we could for the night and ended up going through one more room that was the back of the Rave II’s stage. We joined back up with the backstage area and people and hung out for a little bit more. Funny to see a bunch of groupies on band members. We wandered around a bit, but then were hungry and it was time for the Pinecone! And that was that night!
Whew. I will recap more about the rest of the week soon, as well as, um, I got some pictures of the pool and stuff! ![]()
I also finally set some pictures up that I took back in December here: Nonpoint and Jackyl.
I had a comment in the last entry referring to a “bad run”
No, it’s not some bad diarhea! It was the last few fish fry’s I’ve been to, have just been like, not so great. The fish wasn’t really hot, or something. The one last Friday was Lake Perch, was piping hot, with some great clam chowder. Tonight it was some coconut batter cod nugget things. Those were great, with some mini corn dog appetizers!
So yeah. Boring-ish day again at work. and yah. fun fun. ![]()
Wow. I suck! I was horrible at 3rd base tonight. Yeah, I had two good plays, and they were tough ones, but I blew all the easy ones! And of course, I think we would have one had I not sucked so much there. And batting? Yeah. 1 for 4 with a double. yay. IRK I suck
And it was a crap ass day at work today.
oh, I forgot to mention in the last post. Friday night, we went out for fish in poynette or something. It was damn good I haven’t had lake perch in a long time, and the clam chowder was great too. It was nice to have some good fish fry food for once, I had a bad run there!
that’s all again
Well last week was neato.
Mike, Andy and I went to a Brewers game in Milwaukee on Wednesday night. The Brewers were playing the Cinncinatti Reds. Andy had never been to Miller Park, so that was cool for him to go, and it’s always fun to just go see a game in person. Again, I managed to secure some tickets from work.
Also going on in Milwaukee was a show at The Rave. Superjoint Ritual. We figured if the game was kind of weak, we could just leave and check out that show, or go over there afterwards, as it was the next exit down the interstate.
Inning #3. Reds 9, Brewers 0. It’s looking not so good for the Brew Crew. We figured we’d just stick it out a little longer and see. Brewers scored a run here and there, and we just decided to stay, watch the wiener races, 7th inning stretch, and they scored more runs. Bottom of the 8th, it was 9-9! Well, we had to stay, and the Brewers came back to win in the bottom of the 10th! I later found out that it was the greatest comeback in Brewer history, and best comeback in the MLB since 2000! Was pretty exciting to see in person!
Afterwards, we did do a drive-by at the Rave, and it looked like something was still going on (the Superjoint Ritual show)… We parked and went in… caught the encore! Then it was back home with a stop at the Pinecone along the way!
We got beat bad in co-ed softball on Thursday. Just kind of blah. Men’s softball on Tuesday was a bit better. We won, I had a couple of HRs and a double! This week’s Men’s game was cool. We won again, and I walked a couple times, but got hit in by HR’s both times!
I had Tim over the weekend, we hung out at my place for a while on Saturday, then went over to my moms and played over there. Tim’s very curious lately about why this why that. “why did you open the window?” that kind of stuff. Then Sunday… I took him to the Brewers game. Yup, tickets from work again. I think he had a good time. He didn’t watch much of the game, but for a 7 year old, that’s probably the last thing goin on in his head. He was pretty good! And it was a fun day.
That’s all for now
