Deal guy!
Monday 27 January 2003 @ 8:51 pm

I am quite a shopaholic sometimes, but I ordered this for $100 from staples.com Sweet deal on a sweet machine!

Watched the Stupid Bowl in HDTV yesterday, it was VERY cool. Quite sharp n stuff! More on that later!

Glasses Shmasses
Friday 24 January 2003 @ 10:41 pm

Well, if you’ve been reading here lately, you’ve seen that I got new glasses. Welllll, I finally believe I’ve tracked down the problem. The prescription on my left eye doesn’t seem right, so I made an appointment to get it checked oot.

In the meantime, it’s been a boring week at work, I think i’ll be more motivated next week.

Sunday, it’s, well, Super Bowl sunday, and I have plans to watch it in HDTV Splendor! It should be cool.

Slogan Time
Thursday 23 January 2003 @ 10:55 pm

My friend Tom gave me a link. It’s a Slogan Generator

So I tried a few things, and, well, I don’t think I need to go any further than this:

A Finger of Matty Mo Dot Com is Just Enough to Give Your Kids a Treat.

A Spectacle in Eyewear!
Wednesday 22 January 2003 @ 9:16 pm

I got my new glasses on Monday. They have “prism” correction in the prescription now. Dating back to grade school, i’ve had a problem with my eyes not focusing together properly. Say, when the eye doctor moves the pen thingy around semi-close to my face, then holds it a foot or so away, I see two pens, and have to THINK to focus in on it to make it one. It’s not a Lazy eye, but it’s something else. Well, either I could sit there and do eye excercises and teach my eyes into working correctly. ( I slacked off on doing this in grade and high school) or… Get glasses with Prism correction. So my regular prescription is okay, didn’t change much, but this Prism stuff. Damn! It is pretty hard to get used to. But each day is getting better! Stuff just looks weird and my eyes get tired… 8-)

Slooowwww
Wednesday 22 January 2003 @ 6:16 pm

Went to bartend last night, and man, it was sooo slow! Later on in the night, a couple guys came in for some drinks at the bar, so it wasn’t all bad. I guess since there was a holiday on Monday, Tuesday kind of turns into a “monday” where, like, no one goes out n stuff.

Kittie is playing in Milwaukee tonight, I got tickets and everything, but two of the bands that were orignally going to play with them are not, and well, without those two bands, I don’t think it’s worth the drive to go see. That, and the rave’s web site did not even have the fact that Biohazard was not playing until like, today or yesterday, even though it was announced in the press almost two weeks ago!

I’m working on getting another web client to my lil side project of web stuff… I have to whip up a proposal and get it over there next week sometime…. more details on that as I know more :-)

Fantasy Hockey Update: Well, i am now within 130 points of 2nd place. It’s getting closer, but it can all change in an instant! I have been in the cellar all year, and it’s finally shaping up a little bit.

Now Playing: Soilwork - A Predator’s Portrait

Sunday Sunday
Monday 20 January 2003 @ 12:45 am

I was supposed to meet up with a friend from out of town this weekend, he never called, I called his house today, and got voicemail, didn’t leave a number or anything, so, we missed each other again. :(

Other than that, I stayed home yesterday and tried to get caught up on rest and to not be sick anymore. Watched the Matrix on DVD, with the new Subwoofer installed! It’s a big ass woofer, got a hot deal on it, and it made the Matrix sound VERY good. Later on, I watched Back to the Future 3 and all the outtakes and deleted scenes from all three movies.

Today, after helping a friend move some stuff from apt. to apt. I went to my mom’s, was watching the football game and POOF, signal went to black. Normally, you’d think, oh someone screwed up! Well, this was the station that I worked at. I’ve had my hands on just about every piece of equipment that the signal goes through, so I was trying to figure out what went wrong, and also, being at my mom’s I knew I was the closest engineer to the station. Well it didn’t come back up after a few minutes, so I called, and went in to see if I could help. After a while, we tracked down the problem and got the picture back. Of course, the general public doesn’t understand what goes on and sends crude emails and rude phone messages. Like the station does it on purpose and lets it sit and doesn’t work on the problem. Just once I’d like to give a rude response back!

To top it off, someone on my message board sounded just like that problem, and i went off on him… then came back with a nice reply and explanation.

Speaking of my message board, usually it’s just a few of the former madison pro hockey team fans that post about hockey, local stuff and fantasy hockey. We plan some events, since we don’t see each other 36 times a year at home hockey games…, we use the board to keep in touch. Well, we planned on meeting at my sis’s restaurant for dinner then going over to the ticketmaster outlet at Piggly Wiggly to all get tickets for a Blackhawks game in February. Well… one person did not show up, we discussed the matter, about getting him a ticket or not, and we didn’t. We heard that tickets do not sell out for these games and that he could just get one if he still intended on going. Anyways, he posted on the board fairly upset about being left out. Ugh. So everyone took a turn trying to explain why we’re not out to get him and what happened.

So much drama online!

In other online drama news… My chat room on IRC (undernet #wisconsin) has been busy lately. It’s been very dead over the last year, but, another IRC network has been down for a while, and most people from there have been on undernet, and it’s very nice, as there’s actually people chatting again! Not that I live there, but when it was dead for so long, some life is back, and that’s good, right?

and yeah, boring old online drama gossip post! heh

Not too much in the way of real life fun, I’ve been a bit anti-social lately. Between work, bartending, web-site updating and being sick, it’s just easier to sit at home. Just in a rut for a bit, I’m sure i’ll be out and about in no time! I have a lot of movies to catch up on, and, it’s just getting old being anti-social I spose. :-)
Fantasy hockey update: gained a little ground today, still in the hunt for 2nd place and eventually 1st. It is a lot closer than it used to be!

Icky
Saturday 18 January 2003 @ 5:19 pm

I’m getting sick, it’s that kind of cold that just starts really slow, you know it’s coming, and coming, but never really gets there. Then when you wake up with lung butter in your throat, you know it’s there, and there’s nothing you can do about it!

I bartended last night, and that was fun, except I just didn’t have the energy. I did sleep in today, but there’s still not a ton of energy there. Been this way for a couple weeks. Blah. Maybe it’s cuz it’s cold? Yeah, That’s it!

Fantasy Hockey: was a rough night last night -33 points, but it was bad for everyone, so I didn’t lose much ground! :-) All players play tonight, so we’ll see how it goes!

Hump day
Thursday 16 January 2003 @ 12:16 am

Wednesday has come and gone! Well, it was busy at work today, a lot of little projects got taken care of, and it was all good. Nice to have a good busy day, it makes it go by pretty quickly! In the process though, pulling cables through floors and ceilings, I dinged up my hand a lil bit. Just a lil cut here and there. weird!

Anyways… people from my hockey message board are all comin out to sis’s restaurant tomorrow to make the plans for our hockey excursion next month to see a blackhawks game!

Speaking of hockey… my team has been doing better, closer to 2nd place, but not a great night tonight…. it’s more like it should be now! hehe

This is sooo true
Friday 10 January 2003 @ 11:45 pm

Got this in email from a friend….

Friendship is like pissing in your pants…….

everyone can see it, but only you can feel it’s true warmth.

Thank you for being the piss in my pants.

Stitches
Thursday 9 January 2003 @ 12:22 am

My stitches are out! Yay! Other than that, not a whole lot of exciting stuff going on! Just a mess with my PPO option at work, I still don’t know what info to give to the dr. or anything! I dropped the HMP to go with the PPO, for a variety of reasons, one being a $20 co-pay difference between the two!

I also completed the updates for the annex site, I added a photogallery server application (makes it easier to upload pictures), a new message board, a booking info page, and a new navigation bar! Looks nice from what people tell me!

Fantasy Hockey: Well, I’m holding a spot, but some crappy nights from my players really put a space between me and 2nd place, as 2nd place has some hot players now. ICK!

Hey again!
Tuesday 7 January 2003 @ 3:26 am

Well, I was at my show, well, on the air when I posted last, and i had some un-anticipated guests in to the show. It was Emalee from the former band Siv and her friend Sarah. Emalee was trying to get new people to join a band with her. She also taught a computer class I had a month or two ago. Pretty funny seeing someone that is in a punk/metal type band teaching a computer class about contact management software!

ANYWAYS. It was fun to have some different people in the studio just messing around, they were a lil drunk and were just bein dumb, but at 1:45am, i was tired, and everything was funny!

So yah, finally, on the way home, i get pulled over by a Waunakee cop! WTF is up with that. Cruise control set at 64 in a 55, yeah, it’s speeding, but it’s like in that “safe zone” Of course he tails me for like 2 miles, then FINALLY pulls over. I hate when the do that. I should just pull over when they start tailing me, and see what they do. When they ask…I’d just say, “I know you were going to pull me over, otherwise you wouldn’t tail me like that, so why waste our time, let’s get this shit over with, oh, by the way, I have explosive diarrhea, can we make this snappy?”
:-D
So yeah, anyways, he gave me a verbal warning and I was home 2 minutes later.

Hey!
Tuesday 7 January 2003 @ 1:58 am

I’m getting pretty bad about posting! Nothing much new I spose. I had my son on Sunday, and we did the Xmas thing. And my mom finally got to meet him. She seemed to like him and I don’t know what Tim thought of it. But, it was fun, he got a lot of train stuff, including a set with a real like moving train with real smoke and a light. T’was perty neat! (oh, for those who don’t know, yeah, I have a son, and he’s 6, and his name is tim, he lives in Horicon with his mom and step dad)

I still have my stitches. I just switched from an HMO to a PPo at work, and don’t know the PPO info yet to go get the finger checked on! So I might have to take these things out on my own. I like to be safe and get it checked out, as, well it’s a typing finger!

As for fantasy hockey, i came within 100 points of second place over the weekend, but it slipped away, and tonight, it’s gone again! Ugh

Happy New Year!
Thursday 2 January 2003 @ 12:30 am

Took it easy today. Was a rough night last night. I dropped a bottle of champagne and it exploded, as it should. But a piece of glass must have shot up and sliced my finger. Left pointer finger tip was cut pretty good. Since it was virtually a holiday around 8pm on New Years Eve, it was off to the emergency room. Three stitches later, I was back to the Cottage by 10! Ugh

That’s about it! Back to work til Memorial Day now!
